Efficient Spending and Planning

While costs continue to rise for everyone in North Van, we see more frustration from folks trying to make ends meet. Reckless spending or poor returns for tax dollars will only create more hopelessness. Now is the time for governments to lead and deliver more for residents. This does not mean major spending cuts, but instead looking at ways to focus spending to be more effective:
‍
- ensure new municipal funded developments maximize their space so that we get more out of our projects

- focus on projects that see reduced long term operating costs, for example to create lower utilities or maintenance

- explore the idea of community waste pickup locations, to lower waste management costs
‍
- work on cost saving policies to freeze property taxes for long term residents

‍- my personal promise: to treat the position of District Councillor as a full time job
